Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH)
The Industries & Commerce department of the Government of Telangana, as part of the industrial and commercial efforts to promote and harness the talent available in institutions, academia and industry in the State of Telangana, has proposed to create a platform to be named Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad “RICH” as a non-profit section 8 company formed under the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, that shall link various internationally and nationally reputed educational, research institutions and industry along with Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors and Incubation Funds. The Government intends to initiate a well-designed programme to fully utilize research and development taking place in the institutions by filling up the gaps present in the innovation-entrepreneurship-investment ecosystem. RICH is creating an eco-system for Research to Market by bringing together a collaborative network of top research institutions, academic institutions, mentors, funders, and companies/ entrepreneurs, supported and actively facilitated by the Telangana Government.
Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT)
IIFPT was established to serve as a national institution for research, education and training in the area of post harvest processing of crops of wetlands and storm prone regions; to undertake transfer of technology, consultancy and analytical services for raw and processed agricultural commodities; to establish linkages with related processing industries and other academic as well as R&D; institutions for achieving its goals effectively; to promote growth of new food industry, entrepreneurship, upgrading the skill of industrial manpower and management by imparting training programme; to improve the Shelf-life of food grains/products by packaging and improved technology; providing solutions to all food processing areas including fish, meat and dairy products through intensive research and development activities.
Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)
‘BIRAC’ is a company established by the Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprises to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs. BIRAC is an industry-academia interface and implements its mandate througha wide range of impact initiatives, viz., providing access to risk capital through targeted funding, technology transfer, IP management and handholding schemes that help bringinnovation excellence to the biotech firms and make them globally competitive.
National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management
NIFTEM is the brainchild of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) GoI. NIFTEM was conceptualized by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India as an apex body which would act as a "One Stop Solution Provider" for the various problems of the sector. NIFTEM works actively to set up food standards, businesses incubation and promote knowledge sharing. It is an apex institution in the field of food technology and management, networking and co-coordinating with other institutions in the same field in India and Abroad.
The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid-Tropics (ICRISAT)
ICRISAT established its Agribusiness and Innovation Platform (AIP) that works as a global platform for transfer of technologies to private/ public sector organization and is promoting collaborative activities. It is recognised by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) of the Department of Science and Technology, GoI and BioNest, a Bio-incubator recognised by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Counciln (BIRAC) of the Department of Biotechnology, GoI. At AIP-ICRISAT Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell (IPFC) has also been established with support from the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, which carries out all IPR related activities.
National Research Development Corporation (NRDC)
'NRDC' was established in 1953 by the Government of India, for promotion, development, licensing and commercial exploitation of indigenous technologies and know-how and inventions, processes, including the technical and engineering how-how and any other intellectual property generated by various departments of Government of India and State Governments, commodity research committees, and other research organizations, publicly funded R&D; laboratories, institutions, Universities and technical institutes, individuals etc. and endeavoring in providing the technologies and related services to industries in India and abroad.
